Free Psytrance & Goa Downloads: Inside the Ektoplazm Netlabel Archive

If you love psy and don’t know Ektoplazm, today’s a good day. Running since the mid-2000s, it’s a free music portal specialising in psytrance, Goa, darkpsy, forest, progressive, techno and psybient, with thousands of Creative Commons–licensed releases from labels and artists worldwide. It’s still active, with new releases landing in October 2026.

Why it’s legit

Every release is uploaded with the artists’ and labels’ permission and published under a Creative Commons licence chosen by the artist (often a non-commercial share-alike variant). Downloads are free in MP3, FLAC and WAV where offered. The licence is shown on each release page – always check it before remixing or using a track anywhere public.

How to dig

• Browse by style to jump straight to full-on, dark or Goa.
• Sort by rating or downloads to find the classics.
• Follow labels you like – many big names in the scene put out free compilations here.
• If a release moves you, use the donation links and buy the artists’ other work.

Use it as a producer

Ektoplazm doubles as a free reference library for our psy production guide. Load a track into your DAW, analyse the arrangement, kick-bass relationship and FX automation – then go make your own.
